Berry Slept Here

As I was falling asleep one night, I was thinking back on all the places that I’ve slept over the course of my life. It’s a long list. Recreating the full-list of the places I’ve slept would be too challenging, but perhaps I can at least capture my sleeping locations so far this year.

Let’s give it a try…
Here is a listing of the cities where I’ve spent a night during 2014:

1. Sanibel, FL
2. Key West, FL
3. Whitesburg, GA
4. Spring Hill, TN
5. Darien, IL
6. Muskego, WI
7. Wisconsin Dells, WI
8. Niles, IL
9. Chicago, IL
10. Fitchburg, WI
11. Menasha, WI

There are probably a few cities that I’ve missed, but this is a decent start…Where have you slept this year? Any interesting locations? My night in Key West was pretty memorable. Regardless of where you sleep, best wishes for rest, relaxation, and sweet dreams.

Reflections from my 2013 Euro Trip – Introduction

I thought it would be fun to write a recap of my recent trip to Europe with my (lovely) sister.

–BEGIN–
We visited: Spain, Italy, France, Monaco, & England.
It was fun.
–END–

Ok, so that was a joke. There will (probably) be more posts in the future to focus on the various places that we visited.  I’ll also try to include some of my favorite pictures to supplement the text.

Here is one picture to get things started:

It's not dark, we just got really tan in Nice, France.

I’m not sure how long this will take or how much information these posts will include, but since no one reads this blog (aside from you)…it won’t really matter.

Our Favorites in New York City

Here are some of our highlights from our recent trip to New York:

Lodging
We used airbnb.com to find an apartment to rent. It is far less expensive than renting a hotel and nice to have a kitchen and other features.
We stayed here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/520771
It was GREAT. Good location to most stuff in Manhattan and close to the subway to take you other places.
The apartment had a kitchen so we didn’t need to always eat out.

If you want a hotel in a cool area…I’d stay at Ace Hotel.  Super neat atmosphere and great coffee bar, Stumptown Coffee, adjacent to hotel.

Food
Ess-a-Bagel – bagels
Katz’s Deli – great place for lunch
Eatily – Italian food and shopping
Shake Shack – Madison Square Park – Icecream and food

Coffee
Stumptown Coffee
Zibetto

Shopping
Beecher’s Handmade Cheese
Fishs Eddy

Entertainment
Once the Musical
Backstage tour of Met Opera – if you like theater and/or opera.
Steve Cohen: Chamber Magic – Luxury Magic Show at Waldorf Astoria

Nightlife
Angel Share – Order drink called Passion Dance

Miscellaneous
Spending time in Central Park

Best Practices
1. Take direct flights – no layovers
2. Do not check bags
3. Make effort to sit in front of airplane
4. Midtown condo location was ideal (60 w 55th street)
5. Always walk or take subway when possible.
6. Never take bus or taxi during rush hour on a Friday
7. Plan to see a matinee show on Wednesday or Saturday
8. Don’t fly on a birthday.

Top of List for Future Trips

2. Raines Law Room – 48 w 17th (between 5th and 6th)
