  15. Walking paths
  16. Golfing – a little expensive but there are two golf courses
  17. Movie Theater
  18. Mini-Zoo in Periwinkle Park: exotic parrots, etc
  19. Big Arts – performing arts center:
  20. Free outdoor jazz concerts on certain Sundays at Big Arts
  21. School House Theater – live theater
  22. Community House: bridge, dances, art shows, etc.

Shopping

  1. Noah’s Ark – second hand store, very popular among locals
  2. Antique Store – cool store that has a ton of stuff
  3. Jungle Drums – neat artwork
  4. Pandora’s Box – Periwinkle Place – artistic stuff
  5. Chico’s – the original

Dining Out

  1. Island Cow – Great menu, large portions …favorite on the island.
  2. Lazy Flamingo – cool atmosphere and bar, Brian likes the wings
  3. Mucky Duck – cool atmosphere for drinks at sunset
  4. Normandy – Drinks by the pool & outdoor dining overlooking the beach – happy hour on Fridays

Fine Dining

  1. Traders – excellent for dinner – local favorite
  2. Traditions – Historic Restaurant on the Beach.

 

The Mainland (Ft. Myers)
Activities

  1. Ford/Edison Estate – Winter homes of Henry Ford and Thomas Edison
  2. Norman Love Confections – Fancy chocolate shop near the airport
  3. Manatee Park – Warm water emitted from power plant draws manatees
  4. Shopping at Outlet Mall – Coach, Nike, Polo, Cold Water Creek, etc.
  5. Total Wine and More – huge wine shop.
  6. SunHarvest – Oranges, Grapefruit, Tourist Gifts, and Ice Cream.
  7. Ft. Myer’s Beach – Uber Touristy, Nice Beach, Best Reached by Boat, Lively Atmosphere, some good restaurants, etc.

  1. Five Guys – A favorite place of Brian. Burgers and Fries.
